Artist Profile: Basil Wolverton

A cartoonist, illustrator whose characters are grotesque, heavily detailed so each pore is revealed, while maintaining a sense of humor. With such twisted features of his characters, he also manages to keep to classic construction of the figure. Remarkable stuff. Most cartoonists who copy his or R. Crumb's style don't manage to do this, and the impact of the pose is lost. Marc Hansen who created Ralph Snart, is an exception.
